- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoon cooking oil
- For making pakodas
- 1/2 bowl Gram flour
- 1/2 bowl water
- To taste salt
- 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp ajwain
- 2 onions chopped
- 2 tb spoon chopped coriander leaves
- For making rice
- 1 bowl basmati rice
- 2 bowls water
- For garnishing
- 2 , tomato, cucumber, green chilli
Instructions to make to make Smiley kadhi chawal
- In a mixing bowl add curd and gram flour. Beat well. Now mix salt, turmeric powder, ajwain and water and mix well. Grind onion, ginger garlic and tomato. Heat a wok. Add cooking oil and put cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add asafoetida, coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds and sauté for 1 minute. Add onion Tomato paste and sauté till oil leaves the karahi. Add all dry masale and curd gram flour batter and after first boil slow the flame and let it simmer for half an hour.
- In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients for making pakoras and deep fry pakodas in other karahi.
- Flip the side and fry from other side also.
- Add pakoras in kadhi mixture and let it simmer for 10 minutes on low flame till pakode gets soften.
- In another pan add washed rice and double quantity of water and cook on medium flame till all the water is absorbed.
- Now place rice in the centre of plate. Make two eyes with cloves.,cucumber in centre and tomato piece as lips. Place kadhi around the rice. Kadhi chawal emoji is ready.
